Solar

Solar energy's uses are limited only by human ingenuity. The most common way to harvest solar energy is through solar panels. Solar technologies are broadly categorized as either passive solar or active solar, depending on how they capture, convert, and distribute solar energy. Active solar techniques include the use of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors to harness solar energy. Passive solar techniques include orienting buildings with the Sun, building with efficient solar materials, and keeping houses lit or heated with direct sunlight.

Wind

The sun heats the Earth unevenly, such that the poles receive less energy from the sun than the equator; in addition, dry land heats up (and cools down) more quickly than the seas do. This differential heating drives a global atmospheric convection system, which we call wind. Wind power is the conversion of wind into a useful form of energy. Technologies include wind turbines used to make electricity, wind mills for mechanical power, and wind pumps for pumping water or drainage for your home.

There are an infinite number of ways to make this planet a better place, and each of us has a responsibility to do our part. Going green does not have to be an act of conformity, but instead one of individuality. By combining the power of solar and wind energy, we can each form our own unique formula. Solair Systems can help you create your personal solution to the world’s energy problems.
